A cement truck overturned at Moorpark and Olsen roads in Thousand Oaks on Thursday, injuring the driver and blocking traffic for nearly four hours while firefighters cleaned up leaking oil, authorities said.
Michael Stanford, 35, of Thousand Oaks was treated and released from Los Robles Regional Medical Center, a hospital spokeswoman said.
No one else was injured and no other vehicles were involved in the accident, said Eric Hatlee, Ventura County sheriff’s senior deputy.
The cement truck overturned for unknown reasons about 1:30 p.m. and Stanford was thrown from the vehicle, Hatlee said.
Firefighters spent about three hours and 45 minutes cleaning up oil and water that had leaked from the truck and then cleared the wrecked truck from the road.
About 1 1/2 miles of Moorpark Road was closed to traffic over the Norwegian Grade to Santa Rosa Road. Traffic was diverted to California 23 via Olsen Road.
