Amanda De La Cerda of Notre Dame led the region in innings last season with 185, but is only fourth among Mission League pitchers this season.
De La Cerda sat out a nonleague doubleheader against Paraclete last weekend. She was held out for precautionary reasons after she was hit in her right [pitching] elbow by a pitch earlier in the week against Montclair Prep.
“It wasn’t worth irritating it with two big league games coming up this week,†said Coach Cindy Kramer, whose team plays Alemany and Flintridge Sacred Heart.
“We just threw anybody and everybody to fill in.â€
The Knights used three pitchers who allowed 15 runs and 18 hits in the two losses.
