Santiago (2-1, 0-0) vs. Pacifica (2-1, 0-0)
7 TONIGHT BOLSA GRANDE HIGH
It’s rare that a league opener decides the league title, but that might be the case with Pacifica and Santiago, which appear to be the class of the Garden Grove League. Each team has a big-time running back. Santiago’s Brandan Perry, a defensive end last year, is the flashier of the two and more of a breakaway threat. But Jared Kemp has been finding the end zone three times a game and is tough to bring down. Santiago junior quarterback Brian Pilkington is off to a slow start, completing only 35.9% of his passes. He will have to start connecting with his receivers if the Cavaliers are going to win.
