* Pacific Sunwear of California Inc. plans to expand its casual apparel chain by 28% next year, adding 125 stores to the 450 total it will have at the end of its fiscal year in January, Chief Executive Greg Weaver said at a Banc of America Securities conference in San Francisco. The Anaheim-based company expects sales of $429 million this year, a one-third increase from last year, Weaver said.

* Culver City-based Protection One Inc., the second-largest U.S. security alarm company, agreed to sell its Canadian operations to Voxcom Inc. for about $27 million in a shift of focus to its U.S. and European businesses.
