Anti-Mexican?

Producer Moctesuma Esparza demands that our community stop being activists for change and that we get “a good education and the willingness to work hard” (“The Warrior Within,” by Lorenza Mun~oz, Sept. 5).
If this was a white man saying this, his statement would be seen as the racist stereotype that it is, the insult that this is to our people. But this is a former member of the militant Chicano movement. Where did he learn contempt for Mexican people?
And just what is a “good education”? An education that produces people like him? No, we need education in our interests, the interests of the Mexican/Central American community, as indigenous people!
Esparza has repeatedly demonstrated contempt for the Mexican community by hiring Latinos, which is not the same thing as hiring Mexicans. Is there really no talent in our community?
Esparza is the warrior who sold out, and is now an enemy of the Mexican people.
