Rescue crews pulled a woman from the wreckage of a flattened factory in Athens, but hope was fading of finding more survivors of Tuesday’s 5.9 earthquake. Greek officials said the death toll in the temblor had risen to 89. They said 1,600 people had been treated in hospitals. French rescue workers pulled the woman from the wreckage of the detergent factory about 46 hours after she was buried by the earthquake. She had been found by a sniffer dog. Rescue efforts continued even as rain added to the misery of thousands of homeless Greeks struggling to find shelter away from houses deemed unsafe.
