A pet cat was killed about two weeks ago, the suspected perpetrator a coyote that residents reported seeing in a residential area near Katella Avenue as recently as Wednesday.
According to Ellery and Norma Slick, who have lived on Wilson Avenue for almost 40 years, their cat disappeared several weeks ago. Later, they found a severed leg several houses away. A neighbor who is a veterinarian confirmed that its attacker probably was a coyote.
“Where did a coyote come from in this neighborhood?†asked Don Fallis, who said he spotted it Wednesday morning down the street from his home on Adams Avenue. Fallis estimated the coyote as being an adult and the size of “a small German shepherd.â€
