Price of Tickets
Concert ticket prices are out of control for many performers, but some perspective is in order. A few hours before I read Geoff Boucher’s “Rock and . . . Whoa!†(Aug. 28), I walked out of a club in Silver Lake after a thoroughly entertaining, brilliant set by local pop geniuses the Negro Problem. L.A.’s Cockeyed Ghost, who shared the bill with TNP, also delivered a generous, engaging performance.
The venue was comfortable, beverages were cheap and street parking was free. Total cash outlay: ten bucks.
Anyone can see TNP and Cockeyed Ghost every time they play in L.A. for the rest of the year for a fraction of what the Rolling Stones charged (and I paid, three times) for seats on their “No Security†tour.
Think about it.

I don’t mind paying escalating prices for good seats. What bothers me is when I am paying high costs for average seats and the headlining group, e.g. Bad Company, is playing a set with only 14 songs that lasts an hour and a half. They should be wearing ski masks on stage!
