No. 8 Corona del Mar 3, No. 10 Laguna Beach 2--Dimitra Havriluk had 30 kills and 21 digs for visiting Corona del Mar (10-3, 5-0), which won, 10-15, 15-7, 7-15, 15-12, 15-6.
No. 9 San Clemente 3, Capistrano Valley 2--Kimberly Noble had 18 kills for San Clemente (7-6, 5-1), which won, 9-15, 15-8, 15-13, 15-17, 15-13. Becky Warnick had 33 kills for Capistrano Valley (12-6, 3-3).
In the Sunset League:
No. 6 Esperanza 3, Los Alamitos 2--Kristy Chester had 20 kills to help Esperanza (11-1, 5-1) win, 13-15, 6-15, 15-7, 15-13, 15-3.
In South Coast League boys’ cross-country:
San Clemente 20, Capistrano Valley 35--San Clemente’s Garrett Milner broke a 10-year-old course record by two seconds when he won in 16:14 on the Tritons’ three-mile course. Capistrano Valley’s Mike Beadle was second in 16:17.
In Sunset League girls’ cross-country:
No. 2 Esperanza wins two--Jaclyn Power won in 18:32 over the three-mile course at El Dorado Park for eighth-ranked Los Alamitos (4-1). Lindsay Allen finished second in 18:39 and Kylie Irwin finished third in 18:41 for Esperanza, which defeated Los Alamitos, 25-32, and Huntington Beach, 15-47.
In Pacific Coast League girls’ golf:
No. 1 University 104, Laguna Beach 150--Junior Sunny Lee shot two-under 30 with three birdies at Aliso Creek for University (12-0, 4-0).
In Serra League girls’ tennis:
No. 10 Santa Margarita 10, Rosary 8--Erin Miller and Jaylynn Snyder swept in singles to lead Santa Margarita (10-4, 4-1).
