Elite Aviation Buys $22-million Jet Online

Elite Aviation Inc., Van Nuys, became the first company to buy a Gulfstream IV business jet over the Internet, Gulfstream Aerospace Corp. said. Gulfstream said the $22.9-million purchase may be the largest e-commerce transaction ever.
Elite Aviation is a charter and aviation management company with a fleet of 14 corporate jets, including six Gulfstream aircraft, with locations in the United States and Europe.
Gulfstream is a wholly owned subsidiary of General Dynamics, Falls Church, Va. The company builds ships, land- and amphibious-combat systems, information systems and business aircraft.
