A 71-year-old woman died Saturday afternoon when the vehicle she was riding in was struck by another car at a busy Santa Ana intersection, Santa Ana police said.
Vivian Crommett of Orange was the passenger in a four-door Infinity that was broadsided as it traveled south on Main Street toward MacArthur Boulevard at 12:50 p.m., according to police and the Orange County medical examiner’s office.
The 75-year-old driver of the Infinity, whose identity was not released, was being treated for major injuries at Western Medical Trauma Center, Santa Ana police watch commander John Gabelman said.
The Infinity collided with a Nissan Pathfinder driven by a 32-year-old man, who is in guarded condition at Western Medical, Gabelman said.
The cause of the accident has not been determined, Gabelman said. No one has been charged in the incident, he said.
