THE SAFETY ZONE: ACTION LOG
The Times publishes a daily list of police incident reports provided by local law enforcement agencies. The Times prints items as soon as departments make them available. Because many departments release incident reports only weekly, not every community will be represented in each day’s Action Log. Authorities from the following cities released incident reports Thursday:
BREA
* Brea Mall: A petty theft was reported in the 1000 block at 10:16 p.m. Tuesday.
* Brea Mall: A grand theft was reported in the 1000 block at 9:06 p.m. Monday.
* North Tamarack Avenue: Malicious mischief was reported in the 600 block at 7:31 p.m. Monday.
DANA POINT
* Ritz Carlton Drive: A report of a burglary in the 100 block at 12:12 a.m. Wednesday.
* Atlantic Drive: A report of a burglary in the 33000 block at 10:34 p.m. Wednesday.
* Sacramento: A report of a burglary in the 26000 block at 3:01 p.m. Tuesday.
* Encanto Avenue: A report of shots heard in the 33000 block at 6:50 p.m. Tuesday.
FOUNTAIN VALLEY
* Tilton Circle: Two car tires were slashed with a knife in the 11000 block at 7:44 p.m. Monday.
LAGUNA HILLS
* Alicia Parkway and Paseo de Valencia: Deputies stopped two juveniles involved in a fight at Ralph’s grocery store at midnight Saturday. One was arrested for possession of a billy club. No one was injured.
* Laguna Hills Mall: About $14,000 was taken from JCPenney in what is suspected to be a case of employee embezzlement. The loss was reported at 4:45 p.m. Monday. There have been no arrests, and the investigation is pending.
LAGUNA NIGUEL
* Alicia Parkway: An 11-year-old boy reported that a man yelled at him in the 27400 block at 3:40 p.m. Saturday. When the boy turned toward the man, the man dropped his shorts and exposed himself.
* Cherry Hills Place: A woman reported that the back fence of her residence in the 24100 block was spray painted with graffiti at 4:45 p.m. Saturday.
* Faire Winds: A woman reported that jewelry was stolen from her residence in the 100 block at 11:24 a.m. Saturday.
ORANGE
* Vine Street: A burglary was reported in the 18000 block at 3:58 p.m. Wednesday.
* City Drive: A burglary was reported in the 300 block at 4:05 p.m. Wednesday.
PLACENTIA
* South Melrose Street: A vehicle was reported stolen in the 300 block at 7:31 a.m. Tuesday.
* Richfield Road: A grand theft was reported in the 1000 block at 5:46 p.m. Tuesday.
SAN CLEMENTE
* Avenida Pico: A report of a burglary in the 700 block at 1:16 p.m. Wednesday.
* West Canada: A report of a burglary in the 200 block at 6:38 p.m. Wednesday.
* Legendario: A robbery alarm was triggered in the 32000 block at 6:21 p.m. Tuesday.
* Calle Lago: A report of a burglary in the 100 block at 12:13 a.m. Tuesday.
SAN JUAN CAPISTRANO
* Calle Santa Barbara: A report of a prowler in the 26000 block at 12:16 a.m. Wednesday.
* Verdugo Street: A report of a burglary in the 26000 block at 4:29 p.m. Wednesday.
* Paseo Adelanto: A report of a burglary in the 32000 block at 11:09 a.m. Tuesday.
TUSTIN
* Esplanade Street and Fairhaven Avenue: A suspicious car was reported at 12:27 a.m. Wednesday.
* Loma Street and Taft Avenue: A suspicious car was reported at 8:51 a.m. Wednesday.
VILLA PARK
* Patrician Drive: A robbery alarm was triggered in the 18000 block at 11:28 a.m. Wednesday.
* Janice Circle: A burglary alarm was triggered in the 9000 block at 2:03 p.m. Wednesday.
* Athens Avenue: A robbery alarm was triggered in the 17000 block at 5:11 p.m. Wednesday.
YORBA LINDA
* Via Margarita: A grand theft was reported in the 5000 block at 4:45 p.m. Tuesday.
* Savi Ranch Parkway: A petty theft was reported in the 20000 block at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday.
Authorities from the following cities did not release incident reports Thursday: Anaheim, Buena Park, Costa Mesa, Cypress, Fullerton, Garden Grove, Huntington Beach, Irvine, Laguna Beach, Laguna Woods, La Habra, Lake Forest, La Palma, Los Alamitos, Mission Viejo, Newport Beach, Santa Ana, Seal Beach, Stanton and Westminster.
