Murdoch Son to Lead Web Strategy

News Corp., the world’s fourth-largest media company, named James Murdoch executive vice president with responsibility for overseeing the company’s Internet strategy worldwide. Murdoch, 27, the youngest son of Chairman and Chief Executive Rupert Murdoch, most recently served as president of News America Digital Publishing, the digital media arm of Sydney, Australia-based News Corp. Jon Richmond was named president of News Digital Media, the new name for News America Digital Publishing. Richmond will report to Murdoch, who will report to Peter Chernin, News Corp.’s president and chief operating officer.
