Costs of Losing Trademark Case

I never cease to be amazed.
Are we so enamored with all these whiz kids and their whiz-bang techno-babble that old-fashioned notions of “doing your homework” simply don’t count? Ouch! [“Disney Pegs Cost of Logo Ruling at $40 Million,” Nov. 16]
Disney may complain about the millions it must spend to change its marketing logos. Where was the money when it came to researching the trademark? This is an old-fashioned business practice that predates the computer age, but it still applies.
Part of “family values” is teaching kids good work habits and a work ethic that stresses thoroughness and attention to detail.
“Doing your homework” applies to all professions, long after the school bells have stopped ringing.
