* Your Nov. 17 editorial, “An Abuse of Public Prayer,” demonstrates that what we really need is separation of press and state, with the Supreme Court ordering journalists to stop telling us where, when and how we can express our religious beliefs.
As you wrote of a football game, a news publication or broadcast “can pack emotional power, but it is a secular event that ought not be invested with a religious purpose”--despite the conviction of some editors that they are God.
