Santa Barbara def. Royal, 15-10, 15-6, 6-15, 12-15, 15-4--The fifth-seeded Highlanders rallied from a two-game deficit to force a fifth game at Santa Barbara, but were bumped from the Division I-A playoffs in a quarterfinal match.

Amanda Kiser had 16 kills, Tanya Grover 11 and Kellie Lyons 10 for Royal (23-9).

Michaela Skelly had 49 assists and four aces for the Highlanders.

Alverno def. Viewpoint, 15-7, 10-15, 12-15, 15-10, 15-6--Darby Stern had 30 kills and Mindy Baker added 50 kills, both school records, but the Patriots (16-3) lost at Viewpoint in their first Division V-AA quarterfinal in school history.

Harvard-Westlake def. Santa Paula, 15-3, 15-10, 15-1--Courtney Schultz had 11 kills for the Wolverines in a Division III-AA quarterfinal victory at Harvard-Westlake.

Kelly Ayers added seven kills for the third-seeded Wolverines (21-5), who play at second-seeded Corona del Mar in a semifinal Tuesday.

Westlake def. Foothill, 15-4, 15-7, 15-4--Lauren Mills had nine kills for the Warriors in a Division II-AA quarterfinal victory at Westlake.

Tawny Thorp added eight kills for the second-seeded Warriors (19-6), who play South Torrance in a semifinal on Tuesday.

Whitney def. La Reina, 15-11, 15-12, 5-15, 11-15, 16-14--The fourth-seeded Regents (21-1) were upset in a Division IV-AA quarterfinal at Whitney.
