Motorcyclist Killed in Crash Near Ojai
A Westlake Village man was killed Sunday on California 33 north of Ojai in a collision with a sports utility vehicle, the California Highway Patrol said.
Dana Hoover, 46, was riding a 1997 Suzuki north on California 33, 11 miles from Pine Mountain Camp Road, when he crossed the center line and was hit by a 1992 Nissan Pathfinder traveling south.
The driver of the Nissan, Bobby Hernandez, 39, of Ventura, and his passengers were not injured. Hoover, who was killed instantly, was the first fatality of the holiday weekend in Ventura County, officials said.
It is unclear why Hoover crossed the center line. The CHP is investigating the incident.
