FOUNTAIN VALLEY — A 72-year-old woman died Wednesday after being found tied, gagged and beaten in her home, police said.
Rop Do was discovered by her teenage grandson about 2:30 p.m. in her bedroom in the 11500 block of Iris Avenue, authorities said. The grandson summoned police, who took the woman to a local hospital, where she died a short time later.
“We have no suspects,” said Police Sgt. Jim Perry.
He would not confirm reports by neighbors that the house appeared to have been ransacked.
Jackie Stone, who said she was home most of the day with her front door open across the street from Rop Do, thought it odd that she saw nothing.
“I spent part of the day in my front yard, watering,” she said. “It’s kind of odd that anybody would do that, because my door was wide open. I won’t do that again.”
