Hillary Rodham Clinton says she will definitely make her home in New York after leaving the White House, whether or not she runs for the Senate here.

The first lady made the commitment during a CBS’ “60 Minutes II†interview after being asked which New York baseball team she would root for.

“The politic answer, since I do plan to live in New York no matter what I end up doing, is I’ll root for both,†she said in the interview, which was taped Thursday and will air Wednesday night.

CBS spokesman Kevin Tedesco said there was no significance to her use of the word “I†rather than “we†since she used “we,†clearly including the president in her plans, in other parts of the interview.

Mrs. Clinton has not announced whether she will seek the Senate seat being vacated by New York Democrat Daniel Patrick Moynihan. She appeared in New York City on Monday at a fund-raiser for Rep. Nita M. Lowey (D-N.Y.), who will run for the Senate if the first lady does not. Mrs. Clinton made no reference to her impending decision.
