HUNTINGTON BEACH
The City Council last week approved a replacement housing plan for blocks 104 and 105 of the city’s redevelopment project, a move that could lead to the demolition of nine residential rental units--eight at 470 Pacific Coast Highway and another at 508 Pacific Coast Highway. Because the units are partly occupied by low- and moderate-income households, the action is necessary by law before the city can enter into an agreement to remove the housing, according to a city report. The report shows that the required replacement units are already available within the city, and that 10 to 35 units will be produced within a year that also could be counted as replacements.
