Scores Killed in Tanker Blast

An overturned truck loaded with gasoline exploded in Pakistan as dozens of people were collecting fuel from the leaking tanker. As many as 65 people were killed and at least 75 others injured, police said. Fire spread rapidly through the dusty town of Adda Rodu Sultan in Punjab province, engulfing shops and homes. People with their clothes on fire jumped into a nearby canal. It was not clear what sparked the explosion, police said. The blaze raged for six hours. Doctors said the death toll was likely to rise, with about 75 people being treated for burns and at least 35 of them in serious condition.
