Meeting to Focus on Preserving Sanctuary

The Channel Islands National Marine Sanctuary Advisory Council will hold a meeting to discuss ways to better preserve the underwater sanctuary.
The public is invited to attend the meeting at 8 a.m. Thursday at Chase Palm Park Center, 236 Cabrillo Blvd., in Santa Barbara.
Made up of representatives from federal, state and local agencies as well as members from commercial, educational and recreation groups, the council advises officials on issues affecting the sanctuary and recommends ways of better preserving the resource.
