VILLA PARK

Orange Unified School District officials recently set May 25 as the date they will meet with a group of residents interested in restoring Villa Park Elementary, the city’s only historical site.
The district and the Villa Park Elementary School Restoration Corp. plan to discuss what each could contribute toward saving the 1920s-era school, should trustees agree to such a plan.
The restoration group wants to discuss possible funding sources and changes to the school that would be required under the codes for historical buildings.
The group also wants to update the district about offers it has received for volunteer work and donated construction materials.
