HP to Buy Transoft

Hewlett-Packard Co. agreed to buy closely held Transoft Networks Inc. of Santa Barbara, adding software that will help it compete in the fast-growing information-storage market. Terms were not disclosed. Under the deal, expected to close later this month, Transoft will remain in Santa Barbara.
