Stockton Slams Lancaster
Nick Caiazzo’s grand slam in the fifth inning blew the game open and the host Stockton Ports (11-11) defeated the JetHawks, 20-5, in a California League game on Saturday.
Greg Connors had two hits for the JetHawks (9-14).
AROUND THE LEAGUES
Five former JetHawks are in the major leagues, including three with the Seattle Mariners, the affiliate of the fourth-year Class-A Lancaster team.
Pitchers Ken Cloude and Brett Hinchliffe and reserve infielder Giomar Guevara were promoted through the Mariners’ system and are with Seattle. Toronto outfielder Jose Cruz Jr. and Minnesota relief pitcher Joe Mays are former JetHawks who reached the majors after being traded.
Who’s next? Brandon Parker of the JetHawks is off to a fast start, leading the California League with a 0.38 ERA and 34 strikeouts.

Double A--Javier Delahoya (Grant) improved to 4-0 by allowing two runs, striking out six and walking none in seven innings for Bowie. . . . Kurt Airoso (Cal State Northridge) went three for five for Jacksonville to boost his batting average to .345.
