McCluskey to Coach Tustin Basketball Again
Returning to the scene of his greatest coaching triumphs, Tom McCluskey has been hired as Tustin boys’ basketball coach.
McCluskey led the Tillers to the 1991 state Division II title, won two Sea View League titles and compiled a 109-40 record in five seasons at Tustin.
He left the school in 1992 to become an assistant at Saddleback College. Two seasons later he became coach at Golden West College, where he was 38-86 in four seasons before resigning for personal reasons last summer.
McCluskey replaces Andy Ground, who took over the program after he left in 1992. Ground resigned in February to become an assistant coach at Saddleback College.

Corona del Mar girls’ soccer Coach Walid Khoury has resigned because of conflicts with his club soccer coaching.
Khoury, who was 16-10-8 in two seasons with the Sea Kings, was forced to quit because of a Southern Section rule that forbids coaching players who also play for a coach on a club team. Khoury said six or seven of his club players will attend Corona del Mar next year.
