The historic Dr. Howe-Waffle House and Medical Museum, 120 Civic Center Drive, reopens to the public this weekend following renovation work. Tours of the house will be offered Saturday, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., and Sunday, noon to 5 p.m. Built at the turn of the century, the Queen Anne-style house has 2 1/2 stories and 12 rooms.

The house was constructed for one of Orange County’s first female physicians and was used as her office and residence. It is one of the finest Queen Anne Victorians to survive in Orange County and is maintained by the Santa Ana Historical Preservation Society. Recently, the doctor’s office was converted to a small medical museum showing some of the instruments and tools used by Howe-Waffle in her practice.
