Davis Fills Vacancy on Regional Water Board

Gov. Gray Davis on Tuesday named Francine B. Diamond of Pacific Palisades as a member of the Los Angeles Regional Water Quality Control Board.

Diamond, 55, is the principal partner of Media Partners, a communications consulting firm. Diamond founded the Los Angeles Resource Connection, an organization linking social and health services with inner-city students and families in order to increase educational opportunities.

From 1990 to 1993, Diamond worked for Davis, when he was state controller, as a special assistant for environment issues.

Diamond has been a member of the executive board of the California League of Conservation Voters since 1990. She is a former vice chairwoman of the Los Angeles County Beach Advisory Commission.
