Elarion M. Hernandez has been selected to serve as the grand marshal for the Swallows Day Parade beginning at 11 a.m. Saturday. Hernandez is a direct descendant of Sgt. Jose Francisco Ortega, the scout for the first European expedition into the Capistrano Valley. The parade, which celebrates the return of the swallows to the mission, begins at El Camino Real and ends at La Zanaja Street.
