The city kicks off its Pier Plaza ’99 season this weekend with two days of jazz music. Saturday’s lineup begins at noon with the Tom Margitan Quartet performing traditional jazz, followed by the Rick White Quartet performing contemporary jazz at 2 p.m. On Sunday, Pulse takes the stage at noon to perform traditional jazz, Mainstream follows at 2:30 p.m. to perform a mix of classics and originals, and the Colorado Christian University Wind Ensemble--a 34-piece group performing symphonic band standards--performs at 3 p.m. Pier Plaza ’99 will be held the third weekend of the month through October. It includes live music and the Pier Plaza Art-A-Fair, featuring more than 50 vendors. Pier Plaza is next to the Huntington Beach Municipal Pier.
