The City Council recently decided to support a study that would allow the city to stop paying for more services than it receives from the Orange County Fire Authority. The study, released in January, outlines plans to adjust the payments of about a dozen cities. Dana Point pays about $80,000 more per year than it receives in services, and under the proposed plan would reach equity in about five years. Information: (949) 248-9890.
