BUENA PARK

The Buena Park Mall, one of the oldest in the county, is undergoing a $40-million face lift. Crews have already added a center court atrium to the building, which opened in 1961, and have replaced carpeting with colorful tiles. Improvements include a remodeled entrance and new landscaping, paint, doors and signs.
The second phase begins next year with construction of an Edwards Cinema complex. The redevelopment also includes the addition of 60,000 square feet entertainment, retail and restaurant space. Mall officials expect to complete the entire project sometime in 2000.
