The dismissal of Virginia Military Institute’s top cadet for allegedly demanding sex from female cadets does not represent a widespread problem, the head of the formerly all-male school said. Jerry Webb II was expelled last month after he was accused of seeking sexual favors from three freshmen. Webb had previously been chosen as the regimental commander of the Corps of Cadets for the coming year. The school was forced to admit women three years ago when the U.S. Supreme Court found its admission policy unconstitutional. The school said the women involved in the accusations are expected to be back in the fall and that Webb is unlikely to appeal his dismissal.
