A woman was arrested early Sunday on suspicion of armed robbery after she stole belongings from a man to whom she was giving a ride, police said.
Oxnard police said Isabel Flores, 29, robbed Lucas Garcia of Oxnard about 2:30 a.m. after she offered him a ride from 7th Street and Oxnard Boulevard.
Flores drove the car into an alley, pulled out a gun and demanded Garcia’s wallet and wristwatch, police said. She then forced him out of the car and drove off, police said.
Garcia, 29, flagged down a police car, and while talking to officers he spotted Flores driving by.
Flores’ car sped off when officers tried to pull her over, and they pursued until it crashed into two parked cars in the 800 block of E Street, police said.
Officers arrested Flores and recovered Garcia’s belongings, they said.
Flores, an Oxnard resident, was taken to Ventura County Jail and booked on suspicion of armed robbery, possession of a firearm and ammunition by a parolee, evading arrest, hit-and-run, and violating parole. She is being held in lieu $100,000 bail.
