City officials have proposed the following monthly fees--including some increases--for sanitary district services: residential sewer rate, $3.78; nonresidential sewer rate, $4.38; and trash rates, $16.91 to $18.76, representing an increase of up to $8.91 a month, in certain cases. The increases may be reflected in bills starting in September. City officials say the increases are necessary to maintain the city’s aging system and protect public health.
