Galaxy Situation Gets a Little Tight
If Major League Soccer Commissioner Doug Logan laments the Galaxy’s small crowds [May 30], I invite him to leave his press box suite (with catered refreshments) and join me for the 2 1/2-hour ordeal of sitting in a cramped Rose Bowl reserved seat.
I tried it last year at a Galaxy game and I’m in no hurry to repeat having my knees jammed against the seat in front of me while being constantly elbowed by those sitting on either side.
Of course, when the guy in the adjacent seat finally squeezed his way down the row, balancing nachos and a drink, it took less than 30 seconds in these close quarters for the drink to go cascading over the two of us. There is no secret formula to this thing, the Galaxy game was fine, but the stadium seating is unbearable.
