The Planning Commission voted Monday to postpone a decision on the New Life Church’s application to convert the Edwards Theater at 26862 Crown Valley Parkway into a church. Mission Hospital Regional Medical Center officials requested the proposal get further study, specifically the church’s impact on traffic and parking at the hospital and in the area. New Life Church is in escrow for the building, but Mission Hospital owns the land around it as well as the surrounding parking facilities. Hospital officials said they were unsure of the compatibility of the two facilities because of the church’s rapidly growing population and the hospital’s expansion needs.
