ROBARDS, Ky. — Two workers fell to their deaths in a pit of dead chickens and chicken parts that were being processed into cat food, officials said Friday. The accident took place Thursday at a Tyson chicken processing plant.
James Dame, 40, fell in first. A co-worker, Mike Hallum, 25, was lowered by crane to try to rescue him but was apparently overcome by fumes, possibly methane gas, and fell, the Henderson County coroner said.
