The City Council will have to work out an agreement with Leisure World’s Golden Rain Foundation before being able to close-caption its meeting’s telecasts.
Laguna Woods holds its monthly meetings in the Leisure World administration building. If closed-captioning were approved, the room’s cameras--owned by Leisure World’s Golden Rain Foundation--would need to be fitted with hardware costing about $3,000, Councilwoman Ann Snider said.
Leisure World community and government relations director Ken Watlio said that could create confusion between the city and the Golden Rain Foundation about ownership of the equipment.
