A Reward for Good Writing
Written anything good lately? Rob Weisbach Books is betting $500 that you have.
William Morrow & Co. imprint publishes the work of such authors as Tim Burton, Ethan Coen, A.M. Holmes, Dale Peck--even Whoopi Goldberg. But don’t worry about competing with the big names; they can’t enter.
To qualify, you must be under age 35 by June 1, 1999, and be entirely unpublished. According to the rules, you must not ever have had any writing published in any book or national periodical. Only short fiction--stories told in fewer than 7,500 words--is eligible.
Entries must be postmarked by Friday, and winners will be notified by March 1. Each author of the 20 best stories will receive a $500 fee and will earn a place in the publisher’s “Virgin Fiction†anthology.
For more information, visit Weisbach’s Web site--https://www.robweisbachbooks.com/virgin--or mail your story (double-spaced) to Virgin Fiction Contest, Rob Weisbach Books, 1350 Ave. of the Americas, New York, NY 10019.
What better way to lose your virginity? (Literary virginity, that is.)
