LOS ANGELES — A man wanted for child rape in Tennessee was arrested in South-Central, authorities said Wednesday.
Timothy D. Young, 24, was arrested Tuesday afternoon by officers who were tipped by someone who recognized the suspect from a segment of “America’s Most Wanted,” said LAPD spokesman Ed Funes.
Young, who was arrested at the New Image Shelter in the 3300 block of South Hill Street, was in custody Wednesday, Funes said.
He had been spotted along with Jerrod Deshawn Love, a 13-year-old boy who had been reported missing from his home in Nashville, Funes said.
Love and Young were believed to be acquaintances. The boy was placed under protective custody with county authorities after Young’s arrest.
Young failed to appear before a Nashville court Jan. 11 for seven charges of child rape involving three children, said Don Aaron, a spokesman for Nashville’s Metro Police. Authorities believe Young picked up Love as he was fleeing Davidson County in Tennessee.
