An 80-year-old man who was crushed to death by his car as he tried to stop it from rolling down an incline in Leisure World was identified Wednesday as Albert Lerman.
Police said Lerman forgot to set the parking brake about 4:30 p.m. Monday when he parked his 1984 Audi on a hill on San Amadeo near Avenida Sosiega. When the car began rolling backward, police said, Lerman tried to stop it by walking behind it. He lost his balance, fell and was crushed by the car. He died at the scene.
