La Costa Costs
After reading the article “Swinging a Deal†(Weekend Escape, Dec. 13), we booked a “Discover La Costa†trip to the La Costa Resort and Spa in Carlsbad, Calif. The confirmation letter with a description of services failed to mention that there is an $8 per night parking charge. I believe that charging for parking in a non-urban locale in Southern California is just another way to scrounge a few more dollars. How else will local Californians get there?
On a final note, the room was exceptional, and the spa was as described. The food was pretentious and overpriced.
