clothes have never been more casual than they are this spring. In fact, the suit is an endangered species. Trends such as high-tech materials, functional pockets and packs, and rubber-soled shoes add a practical note to sportswear. Touches of sheer fabric, fringe and beadwork lend romance. For this issue, we asked four photographers to capture the essence of the fashion season, using local landscapes as their inspiration. The result: clothes that look and feel ideal against the light, variety and energy of Southern California.
