Sounding the Alarm for Self-Promotion

I believe ABC-TV hit a new low in advertising Feb. 11 when, during a prime-time show, it ran a message along the bottom of the screen leading off with the words, “Storm Alert.” There followed a pitch for its sweeps-month miniseries, “Storm of the Century.” How can we expect people to respect advertising when an intrusive promotion like this is aired using an emergency alert heading? Unbelievable!
