‘Sexist’ Book

I was astounded to see the blatantly sexist excerpt from the book “LANGUAGE!,” touted as the “most advanced text” being read by teenagers in public schools (Feb. 11). I was even more astounded to note that the text was written by two women! How dare the authors suggest the female student needs help, not the male, and that after help, “She’d be fine. Probably not a political leader, but fine.”

The article states that, regrettably, only a small percentage of students can read this “advanced” text. Thank goodness! I can’t think of a worse text for impressionable teenagers to read!
