The City Council voted unanimously last week to support a bill calling for a statewide program to restore California beaches. San Clemente recently launched its own beach restoration project, but officials said Assembly Bill 64, written by Assemblywoman Denise Moreno Ducheny (D-San Diego), would help the city’s program if funding were provided. Mayor Lois R. Berg said she will draft a letter to Gov. Gray Davis asking him to support the measure.
