Officials say parking meters installed in two downtown lots last week have freed up more spaces for customers by sending business employees to other lots. The city installed the meters, which charge 25 cents per 15 minutes, in two municipal lots off Main Street, near Electric Avenue. The meters are expected to generate $60,000 to $120,000 a year, City Manager Keith Till said.
