Blacklist Survivors Teach a Valuable Lesson
- Share via
Many thanks for the moving and insightful “Schooled in Fear by the Blacklist” by Scott Martelle (Jan. 26). Once again good people are attempting to rewrite history by honoring a man, Elia Kazan, who saved his career by helping to destroy the livelihoods of others. It is up to the Muriel Goldsmiths and June Sirells, ordinary people caught up in monstrous times, to remind all Americans of how a few power-hungry people can try to destroy an evil by sacrificing the good.
Public witch hunts, loyalty oaths and “moral cleansings” can only exist in times when people of all walks of life refuse to speak up and say, “No more!”
