Hanour Scores 38, Laguna Beach Wins Title
Leading by 13 points after three quarters, Laguna Beach withstood a rally by Bellflower St. John Bosco to hang on and win, 64-60, in the championship game of the Century Tournament Thursday night at Century High School.
Travis Hanour led the Artists with 38 points, making 16 of 17 free throws. Chris Manker scored 17 points for Laguna Beach (9-6).
In the third-place game:
Calvary Chapel 62, Cypress 49--Calvary Chapel took third place in the tournament, outscoring Cypress 30-17 in the second half. Torin Beeler led the Eagles with 19 points and Joshua Sherman scored 16 points.
The Centurions were led by Justin Yun and Travis Bartosh, who each scored 11 points.
In other consolation games:
Santa Ana 43, Century 38--Darnell Graham scored 17 points and grabbed 10 rebounds to lead Santa Ana. Javier Macias scored 13 points for the Saints.
Santa Ana Valley 63, Rancho Alamitos 56--Duane Nix scored 27 points for Santa Ana Valley. Alex Landa scored 24 points for Rancho Alamitos.
Sunny Hills 62, Dana Hills 56 (OT)--Zach De Leon scored 19 points, six in overtime, and Eddie Jung had 16 for Sunny Hills (7-8).
Andrew Spaulding led Dana Hills (5-10) with 23 points.
